Advantages of Plaster Of Paris
- It mixes up easily with water.
- It has good adhesion on fibrous materials.
- It is easy to spread and level.
- Plaster of Paris can be used for both oil and acrylic paints.
- It is resistant to fire.
- It forms a thick surface to resist normal knocks after drying.
- It can be moulded into shapes easily.
Disadvantages of Plaster of Paris
- Plaster of Paris can not be mixed with cement
- It can only be fixed by expects, hence very expensive.
- It is not suitable in moist environments.
- Plaster of Paris is very expensive as compared to Gypsum
- Gypsum plaster is not suitable for exterior finish as it can not be used in damp finish.
